Kofi Annan endorses ACET report on agric transformation in Africa

Agriculture can power the economic transformation of African countries, according to a new report from the Ghana-based African Centre Economic Transformation (ACET), founded by former Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa, K.Y. Amoako.

The 2017 report, Agriculture Powering Africa’s Economic Transformation, has been backed by Kofi Annan and some African finance ministers.

Provide Storage Facilities For ‘Planting For Food’ Programme

Mr Ebenezer Azidoku, the Afram Plains North District Agriculture Director has called on government to provide storage facilities for farmers who would benefit from government’s ‘planting for food and jobs’ programme.

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Eastern Region has urged the Police to intensify efforts to arrest culprits who discharged textile waste chemicals into the Nsukwao River in the New Juaben Municipality.

Some unknown persons on Saturday discharged significant quantity of dye chemical waste into the river which joins the Densu River, a major water of source in Ghana.
